In oblivion why won’t my dog fast travel with me anymore?

I finally got my dog in Oblivion, it used to fast travel with me and now it won't. Why not?

The reason why your dog won’t follow you any where anymore is because it was meant to be that way. I lost my dog when I fast traveled a couple times around the world and there really is no way to prevent it.
