You have 2 choices to get a Tamaskan Dog to Canada. Buy one from a Registered breeder in the USA or from a Registered Breeder in the UK. A list of Breeders can be found on the National Tamaskan Club of America website. Or go to the Tamaskan Dog Register website for overseas breeders.

Not to mention they are very unpredictable and have tendencies to be more like there wolf parents. they are apparently number 9 on canadas top 10 dangerous dogs.

A Tamaskan Dog does not contain any wolf DNA whatsoever. Your calling it a “wolfdog” implies that you have not properly researched the Tamaskan Dog. There is an American breeder who claims to have crossbred Tamaskan dogs to wolves and is calling those Tamaskan Wolfdogs but they are totally different in temperment and trustworthiness. Do your research and want a dog not for how it looks or how you think that will up your image but because it is a dog breed that fits your lifestyle and that you will enjoy sharing your life with. Purebred Tamaskans are smarter than wolves due to the difference in evolution of the two breeds. The wolf is based on instinct and preservation but Tamaskans are highly trainable as they are bred to be socialable, interactive and domestic (making them more trustworthy and loyal). Keep in mind – wolfhybrids are illegal in Canada. Don’t get a dog that could potentially be seized, impounded and destroyed!!! There are unregistered breeders in Canada. One in Ontario is in Marmora and was selling pups on Kijiji for the Peterborough Area.

Just do your homework like dogfan says and know that in the background of the tamaskan are also hybrids and wolfdogs. And so if you live in a state that wolfdogs are not allowed don’t by one than. The TDR will not warn you about it because they just want to make money but these days if someone claims you have a wolfdog in a state you may not own one they can claim a DNA test so be wise and do your homework. All info is out on the internet
