Why are many dog breeders so hypocritical?
ByFirst let me say that there are many good dog breeders who are fair and reasonable.
But there are also many dog breeders who say they won't sell a dog to someone who is going to keep it outside in a kennel, BUT at the same time the breeders themselves keep all their dogs outside in kennels FULL-TIME! So what is the deal with that? Isn't that extremely hypocritical? Isn't that a case of "Do as I say, not as I do."?

I agree!
However, you have to look at the big picture. I see a difference between a breeder keeping their dogs outside and people. Now, if it were me, I would keep my dogs inside at all times, but breeders often don’t have that choice. Plus, many actual human owners aren’t going to go out and buy $500 kennels for their dogs, they just tie their dogs up or they let them have free range of the yard, they sleep on grass and dirt and aren’t under control. Breeders, however, invest in thousands and thousands of dollars of equipment, the kennels all seem nice, but that’s only from my experiences.
Also, shelters do similar things, although they keep their dogs outside, too. Again, you need to look at the differences. They don’t just keep their giant pack of dogs in a yard and say "Pick one", they have seperate kennels for each, which are pretty clean.
However I think you are correct, what gives them the right? I, personally, think dogs should be indoors, at least at night time.
