Does dog crap have communication abilites?

I have this neighbor who lets his dog crap on my lawn and my dog craps right next to his dogs crap and the dogs giggle after they crap by each other. Can dogs communicate through poo?

Sure, it’s territory marking. Though I imagine in this case they’re just giggling that they made a mess that you have to clean up.
