How do i find out about training for dog grooming?
ByMy goal has always been to be able to work with animals in some way. I have worked alot of jobs without much fulfillment and I know that the reason is because I really want to get into groooming animals. I live in southern illinois and I need a starting place because I don't know where to begin as far as education or training. If anyone has any information that may help me start my career it would be greatly appreciated!

In my region, most groomers begin as dog washers in the salons, and apprentice until they can groom. Salons are always in need of washers. That is the quickest way, and you earn while you learn.
However, you are not likely to get the very best training by doing that….not expert enough..for show dogs and such.
There are groomer schools all over the nation. I will find some and post them for you in just a minute
Here they are:

It doesn’t require certification to be a groomer. It is just that the schools turn out better educated groomers.
