Is dog grooming training pretty tough??
ByI have a friend who's about to start, and wanted me to ask this question as she starts in one wk I believe. but she loves dogs, ect.
whats the training like exactly?thx
she's already aware that she won't be playing with dogs dingbat at the end here.
To other poster, luckily around here "Petsmart" is PAYING for training
*actually they are paying her as they train. I was thinking about it, but glad you both told me about that God awful smell thang you have to do, man that's disgusting. And I KNOW that is NOT for me!! The doggie day care sounds GREAT however!!
thanks!!

Just keep in mind that dog grooming is a VERY stressful exhausting physical job. Sure your friend may love dogs but dogs know how to push your buttons. After your friends does it for a while she’ll will only like her own personal dogs as many other peoples dogs are spoiled brats that bite, poop and pee all over you. One thing that she’ll need to do on all the dog is Express the anal glands. She will have to sqeeze the dogs anus and empty a sack that is filled wth the most horrible smelling juice that can shoot in your face .The smell is so bad that it will cause the gag reflex. That’s one of the duties perfomed by dog grooomers. She will begin not liking certain breeds of dogs like Cocker Spaniels, Schnauzers, Samoyed’s, Chow Chow’s, Old English Sheep Dogs, and Siberian Husky’s to name a few. When working in the industry you hardly have any time to take any breaks including lunch. Being a dog groomer is a very demanding job that takes A LOT of patience. I just hope she’s not paying too much for the training as many people find out that the grooming thing is not for them. There is a constant turn over of employees at most all grooming salons. Ever notice they usually always have a "Help wanted" sign posted majority of the time. If your friend loves dogs so much she may want to look into working at a doggy day care facility. It’s a lot less demanding and is definantly a more fun atmosphere.
