How should I care for my Golden Retriever’s Hair?
ByMy golden gets clumps of nappy hair around his behind and on his tail quite often. I usually just brush them out but these are too entangled to do that, as I don't want to hurt him. What is the best way to get rid of the clumps, or should I just leave them in; will they eventually just fall out?

They’re mats and will stay in the hair until you take care of them as far as I know. Take him to get groomed or get a brush from a pet store that is made for taking care of mats. My collie gets them all the time around behind her ears and sometimes they get to the point where we have to cut them out.
