What is a good way to introduce a new dog/puppy cats?
ByI have 3 cats. We are desperately looking for a new puppy and we want all of our animals to get along. They don't have to love each other but we've had problems with new dogs and our cats. Any tips on introducing them to each other?

Since the cats are established animals, you hold the dog or have it on leash so you can easily control the dog. Puppies think they should play with everyone in puppy-play methods. This doesn't go over big with cats, and people hate the puppy biting.
Learn how to control and calm the dog. Keep a leash on it and keep total control of the dog during introductions so you can stop it INSTANTLY if it thinks play chase would be fun. Teach the dog the command "gentle" ! Don't allow the dog free access to the cats until you've had them meet multiple times over several weeks. Once the dog knows it's NOT OK to chase cats to play, you should have little problem, unless your cats are ornery. -!-
