Adding Oil to your Dogs Nutrition.?

I read many of times that adding oil
(flaxseed, extra virgin olive, salmon, coconut, etc)
would help dogs (cats, horses, etc) to maintain their shiny coat & prevent it from shedding too much.
I feed Innova, which already contains flaxseed oil, so would it be bad if I add oil to his nutrition?

I was wondering WHICH oil is your choice and why?

Also HOW MUCH to you add and HOW OFTEN a week?

Thank you guys.

There’s not enough oil in any dog food to make a difference to a dog’s skin and coat, so yes, go ahead and add oil. How much depends on the size of your dog. I’ve got greyhounds (70 pounds) and a Belgian tervuren puppy who’s 53 pounds right now and they get a salmon oil capsule daily. They get salmon oil because the omega 3s are great and if you decide to use it, you’ll definitely see the results real soon.

Olive oil is also great. How much to use depends on the size of your dog – a teaspoon to a tablespoon daily.
