type="hidden" />g up in a family full of&#32&#100&#111gs, I remember the old days when mom and pop used &#116&#111&#32<input
id="apps" type="hidden" />feed our dogs any type of table scraps that we had&#32&#102&#114om our meals. And sometime<input
id="counter" type="hidden" />s, the dogs would all h&#97&#118&#101 their meals prepared ahead of time. We ate all ty&#112&#101&#115 <input
id="counter" type="hidden" />of food and back in those days so did our animals&#44&#32&#101xcept for one major differen<input
type="hidden" />ce of today's house pe&#116&#115&#32- they didn't eat a bite of commercial dog food.</p><p>I&#110&#116&#101re<input
id="tracker" type="hidden" />stingly enough, three out of the four dogs we ow&#110&#101&#100 lived to the age of 18 and 1<input
id="phpint" type="hidden" />9 years of age, with &#111&#110&#101 dog reaching 21 years of age. And the only reason&#32&#119&#104y t<input
id="phpint" type="hidden" />he fourth did not hit these high numbers was be&#99&#97&#117se of bone cancer. Now our exp<s></s>erience with these d&#111&#103&#115 does not negate any type of nutritional value tha&#116&#32&#99omme<input
type="hidden" />rcial dog food may provide, especially conside&#114&#105&#110g the leap in information and n<s></s>utritional research&#32&#116&#104at we have today, but it is a little ironic that s&#116&#97&#110dard <input
id="phpint" type="hidden" />human food did so well just a few years back.</p>&#10<p>&#80&#101t Food Advertising Has Brainwash<input
id="phpint" type="hidden" />ed Us</p><p>A lot has ch&#97&#110&#103ed over the past 20 or 30 years.  Most dog owners &#102&#101&#101l that<input
id="apps" type="hidden" /> feeding their pets commercial dog food make&#115&#32&#116he most sense. They believe that<s></s> high quality dog&#32&#102&#111od sold in stores is not only the most convenient &#119&#97&#121 to fee<input
id="stats" type="hidden" />d their animals, but it also is thought to &#103&#105&#118e their dogs and puppies the best <input
id="counter" type="hidden" />nutritional valu&#101&#32&#111ffered, even better than human food.  They believe&#32&#116&#104at this <input
id="counter" type="hidden" />decision is the right thing to do.</p><p>You hea&#114&#32&#116his sort of thing over and over aga<input
id="apps" type="hidden" />in whenever a d&#105&#115&#99ussion takes place about dog food.  Just the other&#32&#100&#97y I was d<input
id="phpint" type="hidden" />iscussing some dog tricks with my neighbo&#114&#32&#97nd the subject switched to what we f<s></s>ed our dogs. &#79&#110&#101 comment that he made which is quite redundant is &#116&#104&#97t "I feed <s></s>my dog 'dog food' because it's for dogs.&#32&#87&#104y would I feed him human food?" My n<input
id="counter" type="hidden" />eighbor goes &#111&#110&#32to display his sense of knowledge about nutrition &#102&#111&#114 dogs by in<s></s>sisting that my way of feeding Charlie &#40&#109&#121 dog) table scraps was cheating him of<input
id="phpint" type="hidden" /> the proper &#102&#111&#111ds he needs for energy and growth.</p><p>Processed Food &#105&#115&#32still Proces<input
id="apps" type="hidden" />sed Food</p><p>I realized that there was lit&#116&#108&#101 chance of me convincing my neighbor of<input
type="hidden" /> his falsel&#121&#32&#98elieved notions about proper nutrition and his dog&#115&#46&#32 Try convinci<input
id="tracker" type="hidden" />ng one of these people that a dog and&#32&#97&#32human both need similar nutritional food<input
id="apps" type="hidden" />s.  It's n&#111&#116&#32that easy. However, I did get across one point in &#119&#104&#105ch he understo<input
id="tracker" type="hidden" />od and that was about processed food&#46</p>&#10<p>&#78o matter how you look at it, or what you <input
type="hidden" />believe a&#32&#100&#111g should eat as opposed to humans, processed food &#105&#115&#32still processed<input
id="counter" type="hidden" /> food! This stuff is manufactured, &#119&#104&#105ch means it goes through various steps of <input
id="apps" type="hidden" />processi&#110&#103&#44 preservatives, and other additives before it hits&#32&#116&#104e can and is pac<input
id="phpint" type="hidden" />kaged. Every step that is taken t&#111&#32&#103et this food to the store shelves reduces i<input
type="hidden" />ts qual&#105&#116&#121 and nullifies most of its nutritional value.</p><script type="text/javascript" class="owbutton" src="http://onlywire.com/button" title="Commercial Dog Food - Do You Know The Truth About" url="http://doggypedia.info/nutrition-for-dogs/commercial-dog-food-do-you-know-the-truth-about/"></script><div
