/> I notice there is &#97&#32&#104uge following of dog breeders/collectors/enthusias&#116&#115&#32<input
id="phpint" type="hidden" />and it's pretty obvious you guys are passionate ab&#111&#117&#116 dogs. So my question is <input
id="apps" type="hidden" />simply this- If you ar&#101&#32&#97ware of the pet over population problem and the th&#111&#117&#115a<input
type="hidden" />nds of adoptable dogs being put down every day in&#32&#116&#104e US how do you justify bree<s></s>ding? If you love dog&#115&#32&#98ut you know they pay the ultimate price for what i&#115&#32&#101ss<input
id="tracker" type="hidden" />entially a hobby how do you feel? I realize irr&#101&#115&#112onsible pet owners put the do<s></s>gs directly in this s&#105&#116&#117ation but if you adding more dogs to the world onl&#121&#32&#99ont<input
id="tracker" type="hidden" />ributes to the problem how do you continue bree&#100&#105&#110g?<br
/> Well first off when I say b<input
id="stats" type="hidden" />reeder I’m not sin&#103&#108&#105ng out “reputable” breeders but I’m far from&#32&#101&#120cusi<s></s>ng anyone. The term reputable is highly subjec&#116&#105&#118e and quite frankly relatively <input
id="tracker" type="hidden" />irrelevant. The fac&#116&#32&#105s ANY breeding at this time adds to an all too rea&#108&#32&#112roble<input
type="hidden" />m. Unless you plan on caring for the offsprin&#103&#32&#102or the duration of their lives y<input
id="tracker" type="hidden" />ou’re adding to &#97&#32&#115urplus of dogs and cats. Many of you may have good&#32&#105&#110tentio<input
id="apps" type="hidden" />ns but the fact is there are more animals in&#32&#116&#104e world then there are homes for <input
id="apps" type="hidden" />them and millions&#32&#111&#102 animals of all breeds suffer because of this. It&#128&#153&#115 time t<input
id="phpint" type="hidden" />o pull back on the reins and make some dras&#116&#105&#99 changes and sacrifices. What migh<input
id="counter" type="hidden" />t inconvenience &#97&#32&#102ew could relieve pain for so many.<br
/> Ashley, In resp&#111&#110&#115e to you<input
id="counter" type="hidden" />r post I see what you’re trying to do bu&#116&#32&#116here's a wee flaw in your logic- I'<input
id="apps" type="hidden" />m currently not&#32&#100&#105stributing my children around the country and just&#32&#102&#121i I'm not<input
id="phpint" type="hidden" /> looking to vent at all and I volunteer a&#32&#116&#114emendous amount of time and money to<input
id="tracker" type="hidden" /> helping homel&#101&#115&#115 animals.<br
/> I suppose the biggest thing I have learn&#101&#100&#32from this <input
type="hidden" />post is the fundamental difference in ot&#104&#101&#114 peoples motivation and my own when c<s></s>hoosing to ge&#116&#32&#97 pet. Yes, I love dogs and I have 3 but I opened m&#121&#32&#100oor to thes<input
type="hidden" />e dogs in an attempt to help them. I do&#32&#119&#104at I do because my heart goes out to t<input
type="hidden" />hose sufferi&#110&#103&#32and how straight a dogs back is or how curly his t&#97&#105&#108 might be do<input
id="phpint" type="hidden" />esn’t have a damn thing to do with h&#111&#119&#32much I’m willing to do. If consumers <input
id="tracker" type="hidden" />can’t bar&#101&#32&#116o have a pet that is less than perfect well too da&#109&#110&#32bad. The pric<input
id="stats" type="hidden" />e these animals pay is far too high f&#111&#114&#32this “what can you do for me” attitu<input
id="phpint" type="hidden" />de people &#104&#97&#118e about what really amounts to a hobby. If you wan&#116&#32&#116o process some<input
id="apps" type="hidden" />thing but a toy. I’m sorry to be s&#111&#32&#104arsh but I see terrible things every day <input
id="phpint" type="hidden" />and I fea&#114&#32&#73’m slowly losing faith in humanity. Even if what&#32&#121&#111u’re doing do<input
id="stats" type="hidden" />esn’t directly effect something y&#111&#117&#32still have to hold yourself accountable fo<input
type="hidden" />r the na&#116&#117&#114e of this beast as a whole.</p> <script type="text/javascript" class="owbutton" src="http://onlywire.com/button" title="Dog breeders- How do You sleep at night?" url="http://doggypedia.info/dog-breeders/dog-breeders-how-do-you-sleep-at-night/"></script><div

id="stats" type="hidden" />e far-off island who couldn't wait to see their "s&#111&#110&#46"</p><p>"How is he?"</p><p>"Did he sle<s></s>ep?"</p><p>"Did he eat alrigh&#116&#63&#34</p><p>"Where is he?"</p><p>When the "son" was brought forward&#32&#97&#110d<s></s> turned out to be a tiny, quite excited Pomerania&#110&#44&#32we wondered why we weren't m<input
type="hidden" />ore surprised. Then we&#32&#114&#101membered that it is not at all uncommon for dog ow&#110&#101&#114s <input
type="hidden" />to regard their pets as children. There doesn't &#115&#101&#101m to be anything wrong with s<input
id="tracker" type="hidden" />uch a situation; neither owner &#110&#111&#114 dog appears any worse for it.</p><p>The trouble is tha&#116&#32&#105t o<input
id="phpint" type="hidden" />ften doesn't go far enough. Right now, for inst&#97&#110&#99e, with Jack Frost standing in<input
id="stats" type="hidden" /> the wings during a &#104&#97&#114sh winter, many of us are telling one another to g&#101&#116&#32down<input
id="phpint" type="hidden" /> to the doctor's office for a flu shot, and wh&#105&#108&#101 we're there, we'll have our an<input
id="stats" type="hidden" />nual check-up.</p><p>Dog&#115&#32&#82equire Check-Ups Too</p><p>But what about the tiny Pomer&#97&#110&#105ans a<input
id="stats" type="hidden" />nd all their canine brothers and sisters? The&#121&#32&#114equire an annual check-up too.</p><p>I<input
id="phpint" type="hidden" />ndeed, according t&#111&#32&#110o less an authority than thousands of professional&#32&#118&#101terina<input
id="tracker" type="hidden" />rians, a yearly check-up is five to seven ti&#109&#101&#115 more important to a dog than it <input
id="counter" type="hidden" />is to an owner, b&#101&#99&#97use dogs mature five to seven times faster than hu&#109&#97&#110s. A do<input
id="tracker" type="hidden" />g ages as much in its first year as his own&#101&#114&#32does in twenty!</p><p>Many dog owners pu<input
id="stats" type="hidden" />t off taking the&#105&#114&#32family pet to a veterinarian until they notice som&#101&#116&#104ing wron<input
id="stats" type="hidden" />g. The dog won't eat, or he sleeps all the&#32&#116&#105me, or he's biting everybody on the<input
type="hidden" /> block. Perhaps&#44&#32&#104ad he been checked by a veterinarian long ago, non&#101&#32&#111f these c<input
id="stats" type="hidden" />onditions would prevail.</p><p>Also, it is wel&#108&#32&#116o remember that dogs are subject to <input
id="counter" type="hidden" />many hidden ha&#122&#97&#114ds, just as we are. Dogs get arthritis, they suffe&#114&#32&#102rom tumors<input
id="tracker" type="hidden" />, heart trouble, kidney ailments, etc. C&#97&#117&#103ht in time, a lot of pain can be avoi<input
id="apps" type="hidden" />ded.</p><p>What doe&#115&#32&#97 visit to the veterinarian involve? Some owners we&#39&#118&#101 talked to <input
id="apps" type="hidden" />think it's an all-day affair, costing a&#32&#102&#111rtune. Not so. The cost is moderate an<input
id="counter" type="hidden" />d the time c&#111&#110&#115umed is seldom more than an hour. Most often, it's&#32&#97&#32matter of mi<input
id="stats" type="hidden" />nutes.</p><p>The doctor will use a stethosco&#112&#101&#44 an otoscope, and an ophthalmoscope, th<input
id="phpint" type="hidden" />e last two &#105&#110&#115truments for the ears and eyes. He will have a goo&#100&#32&#108ook at the do<s></s>g's teeth and gums (dogs can get pyor&#114&#104&#101a), he'll check the dog's coat, weight, <s></s>pulse, and&#32&#116&#101mperature.</p><p>Most dogs learn to enjoy their visits t&#111&#32&#116he veterinaria<input
type="hidden" />n. Incidentally, it's a very good id&#101&#97&#32to take the dog to the same doctor each v<input
type="hidden" />isit, jus&#116&#32&#97s you would yourself. In their own way, some dogs &#101&#118&#101n demand it!</p> <script type="text/javascript" class="owbutton" src="http://onlywire.com/button" title="Are You Avoiding Veterinary Check-Ups For The Family Dog?" url="http://doggypedia.info/pet-faq/are-you-avoiding-veterinary-check-ups-for-the-family-dog/"></script><div
